On Friday 7th June, at the Aston Hall oboist Beatrice Hubble presented the story of Scheherazade to a hall full of local primary school children. She introduced the themes that accompany the stories, and the different instruments of the orchestra which play those themes. The children had an opportunity to try some of the instruments, and to see what they look and sound like, and the orchestra played the music. Their comments on the event: “Amazing! That double bass is enormous!” “Awesome!”
